Giulio, a young coder from Italy, is one of two teens who won the 2017 Future Makers Awards pan-European competition (10-13 years old category) thanks to the video game he designed for people with Down Syndrome.

Discussing his love for coding, Giulio explains that he enjoys thinking about different ways to solve problems and that Future Makers offered a challenging opportunity. “With coding, you can make people’s lives easier!”

As an award winner, Giulio was given the opportunity to tour Liberty Global’s Schiphol-Rijk office, where he met the team and learned more about the important role of technology at Liberty Global. During his visit, Giulio met Ronald who shared his story of how he began coding at a similar age.

Liberty Global launched the pan-European Future Makers Awards in partnership with CoderDojo during the 2017 Europe Code Week, aiming to stimulate young people to use their coding superpowers to come up with projects that could solve social issues in their communities.
