My journey

I’ve never known what I wanted to do. I still don’t. I’m trying to build up many experiences, skills, and a breadth of knowledge in a variety of departments and sectors until I do – something Liberty Global encourages.

One of my main goals is to complete my professional qualifications as it can provide me with a lot of different opportunities. It will also build my skills & knowledge and shape me into a future leader. That is one of the reasons I moved from Account Payables, my first role here, to Management accounts. The role was going to support CIMA/ACCA qualifications. I am now looking forward to starting the Liberty Global Finance Graduate Programme in September 2022.

I joined on January 21 not knowing much about the company and slowly I started appreciating it more. Liberty Global is growing at a fantastic rate and it’s a perfect opportunity for a person like me so early in my professional career to adapt and grow alongside a company that’s doing such exciting things.

There are also many different ways to develop yourself here. Through apprenticeships, finance academies and even LinkedIn Learning. The benefits aren’t too bad either. I just got to enjoy the UFC at the O2 arena in London in the Liberty Global suite!! It was a fantastic experience! That’s just one of many benefits on offer here.

JP! That’s what I’m known as to my friends and family. Outside of working hours, I tend to keep myself busy. Being a huge football fan, I follow Liverpool Football club home, away, and across Europe. This provides me with also fulfilling my other hobby of traveling. Before I started working full time, I used to also represent the LFC foundation raising money for the schools, hospitals, and foodbanks of Liverpool. I’m also very active, I spend time in the gym at least 5 days a week and will pick up outdoor sports such as tennis and basketball in the summer.

Family is the most important thing to me. We love going to the movies, theme parks, and out to eat quite often. Islam shapes a huge part of my life. Being a Muslim helps me stay close to God and be a better person every day. Liberty Global does provide assistance for us to pray when we need to during work hours with a multi-faith room. My manager has also been very understanding about this allowing me to leave at certain times for prayers.

It’s Lit! For those that aren’t familiar with the slang term, it means exciting. The people, the goals, and the vision all make #Lifeatliberty Lit!
