VodafoneZiggo and Samsung have teamed up with The Nationaal Ouderenfonds (National Foundation for the Elderly) to launch a free telephone help desk for the elderly in The Netherlands, called Welcome Online, to help them stay in touch with loved ones during the Coronavirus crisis.
The phone line enables volunteers to help the elderly learn the skills needed to get online, without them having to visit in person. Participants can use the programme to learn or hone their skills, or get help with any digital problems they may have alone, with the help of a volunteer, or in groups.
Examples of questions people may ask include:
– How do I video chat?
– How do I stay in contact through social media?
– How can I play games with others?
– Where can I find the latest information on the coronavirus?
