Telenet and Orange Belgium announced two commercial agreements giving the operators wholesale access to each other’s fixed networks in Belgium. The agreement is subject to the completion of Orange Belgium’s transaction to acquire a majority stake in the VOO network.
This means that Telenet will be able to expand into Wallonia, in the south of the country, and to the six municipalities of Brussels that don’t currently benefit from the company’s high-speed internet, television and fixed telephony services.
Combining this new access with its existing nationwide mobile network, Telenet will be able to provide converged fixed and mobile services (FMC) throughout Belgium, becoming a nationwide FMC player and providing more choices for customers.
