Liberty Global is pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Milner as CEO of our energy transition portfolio, which includes Egg and Believ, to help us continue to grow this important part of our business.

Luke has been an integral part of the Liberty Global family for several years joining Virgin Media in 2016 as Finance Director in UK B2B, before moving to our energy ventures portfolio in 2021.

He has been leading the energy transition team in an interim capacity and laid clear foundations for success, with the right mix of entrepreneurial spirit, drive, and ambition to execute against our strategy.

With Luke’s appointment, Mike Hallam, Egg COO, will become CEO of Egg.

Liberty Global is excited about the opportunities in the energy transition market which continues to accelerate, with a reported $37tn of global investment required by 2030 to achieve the world’s net zero targets by 2050.

Egg, the clean energy brand launched in 2022 by Liberty Global Ventures, is dedicated to inspiring a clearer path to clean energy, supporting homes and businesses across the UK in all things clean energy with EV charging, solar panel and battery storage solutions.

Believ, a joint venture between Liberty Global and Zouk Capital, is an electric vehicle (EV) charge point operator on a mission to deliver cleaner air for all. In August 2023, it appointed Guy Bartlett as its new CEO, and announced it has already delivered more than 2.4 million kWh of charge, amounting to a saving of nearly 200,000 kg of CO2 in line with its mission of achieving ‘cleaner air for all’.
