AtlasEdge, a leading data centre provider jointly owned by Liberty Global and DigitalBridge, has announced the development of LEV002, a new data centre in Leverkusen that will further expand its presence in Germany and strengthen capacity in the Rhineland region.
Located adjacent to AtlasEdge’s existing LEV001 facility, the new site will deliver 4.4MW of capacity and approximately 3,400 square metres of technical space. Construction began in February 2026, with the facility scheduled to be ready for service in Q2 2027.
The investment follows strong customer demand at the Leverkusen site, which is already nearing full capacity, underlining the need for additional colocation, connectivity and high-performance infrastructure in one of Germany’s most economically significant regions.
Georg Raiser, Managing Director DACH at AtlasEdge Data Centres said: “With the development of this new data centre, we are advancing our long-term growth strategy in Germany. AtlasEdge is investing in high-growth European markets, delivering modern, high performance infrastructure where customers need it most. Expanding our footprint in Leverkusen strengthens our ability to support customers across one of Germany’s leading economic regions.”
Designed to meet evolving customer requirements, the new facility will support AI-ready and high-density deployments while maintaining high standards of resilience, efficiency and operational performance.
LEV002 will run on 100% renewable energy, comply with Germany’s Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), and achieve leading industry standards including EN 50600, ISO 27001 and ISO 9001.
