A key tool in this area is our Product Sustainability Scorecard, which is used to measure a product’s impacts such as energy consumption, raw material use and greenhouse gas emissions and enables us to embed sustainability into our product development process.
Following the Product Scorecard analysis, our Connect Boxes are now 15% more energy efficient during use and avoid generating 173 metric tons of plastics, metals and electronics compared to the previous model. In the UK alone, we saved 29 tons of paper from documentation and 220 tons of cardboard from packaging during distribution.
Product Scorecard-related questions are also embedded into the procurement process for customer premises equipment (CPE), in order to gauge suppliers’ ability to respond, consider and mitigate these impacts before starting a project.
