NL timeline of key events

 

All employees who work at the Schiphol-Rijk campus must register themselves and reserve space in advance via Mapiq Office Shifts.

Please find below a list of the most commonly asked questions from employees in the Netherlands relating to coronavirus (COVID-19).  We will continue to update this information as the situation unfolds. The answers and advice below are subject to review and may change at any time. If there is a question you still need answering, get in touch at peopleservices@libertyglobal.com.

 


What happens if I have a confirmed case of coronavirus?

In the unfortunate event that you have contracted coronavirus, the GGD will conduct contact tracing and they will contact other employees that may have been exposed. You will also be required to self-isolate for 10 days. You will need to inform your manager that you are ill and can optionally volunteer the reason why.  For those that are concerned about colleagues that may have been exposed, you can email coronainformation@libertyglobal.com and provide details so that we can invoke additional cleaning protocols. Please do not copy anybody on any emails as we need to keep your identity confidential. Details will not be stored.

If you are unable to work due to sickness, then our normal absence policies – and any additional country policies for paid leave – will apply.


I am a line manager and I have a team member with a confirmed case of coronavirus – what do I do?

If your team member has informed you that they have tested positive, if they haven’t already, please ask them to contact the GGD as soon as possible, as the GDD will conduct contact tracing. Email coronainformation@libertyglobal.com to let us know that a team member has tested positive, but do not mention the name of the team member (for privacy reasons).

Please do not communicate the name of the team member to anybody via email or verbally. We are obliged to keep the identity of the individual private. You can communicate that a team member has tested positive and that the GGD will do contact tracing. If the GGD believes anybody is at risk, individuals will be contacted by the GGD and will be given instructions.

If the team member has contacted colleagues and those colleagues are concerned that they have been exposed, please ask them to work from home, monitor their health and if they show any symptoms to seek testing. Note that the GGD considers somebody at risk if they have spent 15 minutes or more with an infected person.

What happens if I am told to self-isolate and do so, but cannot work from home during that time?

In the event of an employee needing to self-isolate and not being able to work from home, then Liberty Global will grant additional paid leave (per country policy or through additional business approved leave, pending approval of their ELT member).

The additional business approved leave will be reviewed and approved on a weekly basis. Liberty Global monitors emergency situations daily to determine how long pandemic/additional business approved leave must continue and – following consultation with outside authorities – advises employees when to expect to return to work.


What happens if I need to stay home to care for my child as their school is closed?

If you can work from home, then please do so. It might be helpful to discuss temporary alternative working patterns with your line manager to enable you to better balance child care and working from home.

If your specific circumstances are such that you are unable to work during this time, then Liberty Global may grant additional business approved leave, pending approval of your ELT member.

The additional business approved leave will be reviewed and approved on a weekly basis. Liberty Global monitors emergency situations daily to determine how long pandemic/additional business approved leave must continue and – following consultation with outside authorities – advises employees when to expect to return to work.


What happens if I need to stay home to care for someone in my household who has a confirmed case of coronavirus?

If you can work from home, then please do so. It might be helpful to discuss temporary alternative working patterns with your line manager to enable you to better balance caring requirements and working from home.

In the event of an employee having to take additional time off to care for dependents, then Liberty Global will grant additional business approved leave, pending approval of their ELT member.

The additional business approved leave will be reviewed and approved on a weekly basis. Liberty Global monitors emergency conditions daily to determine how long pandemic/additional business approved leave must continue and, following consultation with outside authorities, advises employees when to expect to return to work.


What happens if I, or somebody in my household, is exposed to someone that has been confirmed to have the virus in the last 10 days?

If you or any member of your household has been in contact with a person that in the last 10 days has tested positive for coronavirus, then you must self-isolate for 10 days.


What happens if someone becomes ill at work with symptoms of coronavirus?

If you feel unwell, please stay at home. In the unlikely event that you suddenly become ill at work with symptoms of coronavirus, you should inform your line manager that you are feeling unwell immediately and go home.

You should contact your family doctor or the local GGD by phone to seek advice.

Will we close the office if there is a confirmed case at the site?

We will follow the most up to date advice of the World Health Organization and country governments, which is subject to change.
