UPC Switzerland

UPC Switzerland is the largest cable television operator in Switzerland. UPC Switzerland provides video, broadband internet, and digital (VoIP) telephony services to 2.6 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 1.3 million customers as of December 31, 2016.

UPC Switzerland’s customers are located in 24 of the 26 member states (Cantons) of Switzerland, including the major cities of Bern, Zürich, Lausanne, and Geneva. Its nationwide network is upgraded to two-way capability, with all of its cable homes passed served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 860 MHz. It launched community WiFi network throughout its footprint.

In addition, UPC Switzerland offers a range of video, voice, broadband internet, and data services to business customers. These customers include small and medium size businesses, large corporations, and wholesale partners throughout Switzerland.

Video

UPC Switzerland provides basic and enhanced video services. For its enhanced video customers, UPC Switzerland offers different packages starting with a package that includes 90 video channels and several radio channels (including the channels in its basic service). In addition, UPC Switzerland offers its customers a variety of premium channels, HD programming, interactive services such as VoD, ReplayTV and ‘catch-up’ TV, an electronic program guide, remote recording, pay-per-view services as well as DVR services. It also offers MyPrime, the SVoD video-streaming service.

At the beginning of 2013, UPC Switzerland launched Horizon TV, our next generation platform, which had 675,000 subscribers at December 31, 2016. UPC Switzerland also offers the Horizon TV app and Horizon TV online service, offering customers access to linear channels, VoD programming and remote DVR management across multiple devices while in the home and on the go.

Internet

UPC Switzerland offers multiple tiers of broadband internet service. Download speeds of up to 500 Mbps are available with Fiber Power, utilizing U.S.DOCSIS 3.0 technology. The Fiber Power service is available to all of its homes passed. In 2014, UPC Switzerland launched WiFiSpots across its footprint which provides free WiFi access to its customers who are traveling within the footprint. UPC Switzerland has 750,000 WiFiSpots as of December 31, 2016.

Voice

UPC Switzerland offers multi-feature digital telephony via VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). Its VoIP services are available to all of its homes passed.
