UPC Poland

UPC Poland is the largest cable television operator in Poland. UPC Poland provides video, broadband internet, and digital (VoIP) telephony services to 2.9 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 1.4 million customers as of September 30, 2016. UPC is a leading provider of triple play services in Poland. UPC Poland is the largest of Liberty Global’s operations in Central and Eastern Europe in terms of revenue.

UPC Poland’s customers are located in regional clusters encompassing nine of the ten largest cities in Poland, including the capital city Warsaw and the cities of Cracow and Katowice. Its network is 98% upgraded to two-way capacity, with almost all of its homes passed served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 860 Mhz. In January 2015, UPC Poland launched Horizon TV, our next generation video platform, which had 230,000 subscribers at September 30, 2016. UPC Poland also launched community WiFi for its broadband internet customers in 2014.

UPC Poland also offers a range of video, voice, broadband internet, and data services to business customers and wholesale partners located in its service areas.

UPC Poland provides basic and enhanced video services. For its enhanced video subscribers, UPC Poland offers different packages starting with a package that includes 103 video channels and several radio channels (including the channels in its basic service). In addition, UPC Poland offers its customers a variety of premium channels, HD programming, interactive services such as VoD and ‘catch-up’ TV, an electronic program guide, remote recording, as well as DVR services. It also offers MyPrime, the SVoD video-streaming service, and at December 31, 2015 it had over 145,000 MyPrime subscribers. A basic video subscriber receives either 32 or 42 video channels, depending on location.

UPC Poland’s Horizon TV service is a cloud-based system with 230,000 subscribers at September 30, 2016. UPC Poland also offers Horizon Go, offering customers access to linear channels, VoD programming and remote DVR management across multiple devices while in the home.

UPC Poland offers multiple tiers of broadband internet service. Download speeds of up to 600 Mbps are available (depending on location) with UPC Fiber Power, utilizing EuroDOCSIS 3.0 technology. The UPC Fiber Power service is available to 98% of UPC Poland’s homes passed. In 2014, UPC Poland launched WiFiSpots across its footprint which provides free WiFi access to its customers who are traveling within the footprint. UPC Poland has 701,000 WiFiSpots as of September 30, 2016.
