UPC Czech Republic
UPC Czech Republic (UPC Czech) is the largest cable television operator in the Czech Republic. UPC Czech provides basic and enhanced video, broadband internet, and fixed-line telephony voice (VoIP) services to 1.2 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 710,000 customers as of September 30, 2016.
UPC Czech’s customers are located in cities and towns throughout the country, including the capital city of Prague, Brno, Ostrava, and Plzen. Its networks are 98% upgraded to two-way capability, with 99% of its homes passed served by a network with a bandwidth of at least 860 MHz.
In addition, UPC Business in Czech offers a range of voice, broadband internet, and data services to business customers and wholesale partners throughout Czech.

UPC Czech provides basic and enhanced video services. For its enhanced video subscribers, UPC Czech offers various packages starting with a package that includes 104 video channels and several radio channels (including the channels in its basic package). Subscribers may also receive its enhanced video service through a CI+ module in combination with a smart card without the need for a set-top box. In addition, UPC Czech also offers its customers a variety of premium channels, HD programming, VoD, MyPrime (the SVoD video-streaming service), an electronic program guide, as well as DVR services.
In May 2015, UPC Czech launched Horizon TV, our next generation platform, which had 39,000 subscribers, plus an additional 184,000 subscribers with Horizon TV access via upgraded set-top boxes at September 30, 2016. UPC Czech also offers Horizon Go. A basic video subscriber receives 41 video channels and several radio channels, depending on location.
Enhanced Video penetration3
UPC Czech offers multiple tiers of broadband internet services. Download speeds of up to 300 Mbps are available with UPC Fiber Power, its next-generation broadband internet service utilizing EuroDOCSIS 3.0 technology. UPC Fiber Power is available to 98% of UPC Czech’s homes passed. In 2015, UPC Czech launched WiFiSpots across its footprint which provides free WiFi access to its customers who are traveling within the footprint. UPC Czech has 189,000 WiFiSpots as of September 30, 2016.
UPC Czech offers feature-rich digital telephony services through VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). The VoIP services are available to 95% of its homes passed.
