Cable & Wireless Communications

On May 16, 2016, Liberty Global completed the acquisition of Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (“CWC”). CWC joined the LiLAC Group, which already comprises our marquis operations in Chile and Puerto Rico, creating a consumer and business-to-business communications powerhouse in the region.

Cable & Wireless Communications is a full service communications and entertainment provider and delivers market-leading basic and enhanced video, broadband internet and fixed-line telephony to 1.6 million service subscribers (RGUs) represented by 966,000 million customers as well as mobile voice and data services to 3.5 million mobile subscribers as of June 30, 2017. In addition, through its business division, CWC provides data center hosting, domestic and international managed network services, and customized IT service solutions, utilizing cloud technology to serve business and government customers. 

CWC also operates a state-of-the-art submarine fiber network – the most extensive in the region – in over 30 markets.

CWC primarily operates under the consumer brands Flow, Mas Movil, and BTC which are located in the Caribbean, Panama and Bahamas, respectively.
