Q: Why outsource my import needs from China to Liberty Global Group?

A: With Liberty Global you now have 25 years of manufacturing in the Greater China region and International Importing Experience on your side. Our job is to get you what you need at a price that makes sense. With NO hassle for you and NO surprises. We have worked with many U.S. companies on their direct imports needs, including the U.S. Navy and Visteon for over 10 years….we know all of the pitfalls of manufacturing in China,  importing processes  and how to avoid them. Our Guaranteed Door-to-Door Pricing makes your business planning easy. And when things DON’T go as planned, we communicate closely with you to find a win-win solution.

Q: How Liberty Global Group helps to deal with the aggravation of late shipments, wrong shipments, poor quality, custom problems, etc. with manufacturing in China?

A: Dealing with overseas vendors is very different from buying domestically as there are many factors involved. It is not always possible to eliminate all the problems, but,  Liberty’s team has extensive experience in all areas of importing and can minimize problems. The key point is trying to anticipate potential problems and seek prevention ahead of time. We work closely with you on product specifications and confirm all requirements are achievable, before production even starts.  Samples are sent for approve before mass production and final shipment leaving China so you know what to expect. Any problems are dealt with immediately and effectively.

Q: I am just a small business. Can I really save on my import needs like the "Big Boys" do with their volume buying and shipping?

A: YES! Why do it unless there is saving? We can offer you the savings of imports with the convenience of buying local. We will try every possible way to reduce your costs by consolidating orders and shipments. With our existing overseas offices, you have on-site control just like the "Big Boys." We do have to meet minimum order quantity (MOQ) due to material or component requirements and may incur extra handling fees if small shipments have to be made by themselves.  If a project is not feasible, your Liberty Account Manager will be upfront about it so you have realistic expectations. Volume does have a big impact on pricing and we have to find that balance between buying enough to achieve the savings you want and not buying too much to tie up all your cash. With Liberty, you know exactly what you will be paying ahead of time…no surprises!

Q: What's the difference between Direct Importing and buying from an importer?

A: Direct importing is buying from overseas manufacturers directly, per your design, using your logo or trade name. The factory in China will produce what you order, not selling what they have already produced. With Liberty's Full-Service, you will enjoy a seamless process, from sampling to the final delivery at your door without worrying about working with different cultures or languages. You can see Liberty’s Terms and Conditions for cancellations & returns. Direct importing gives you the best possible price without the hassle of traveling overseas and taking the risks of having unpleasant surprises. Direct importing does require full payment and a longer lead time for overseas production, usually 90-120 days from sample approval date. Buying from an importer is a different story. Most importers work with 70-100% mark-up on top of factory's cost as they have to keep inventory in their warehouse. You also can't customize easily when buying from an importer as the merchandise is pre-selected, often with the importer's logo. This may be a good solution for start-up companies or new ventures that need to test the market.

Q: How do I check the status of my inquiry or order that is being made in China?

A: A dedicated Liberty Account Manager is assigned to your account and remains in communication with you at all times. You will interact with a real person, not a machine. All telephone calls, faxes and E-mails are guaranteed to be answered by the next business day. Click here to contact a Liberty Account Manager. Or, call 1-714-258-7998 and ask for an Account Manager.

Q: What if I already have chosen a China factory to work with or have been doing my own importing?

A: Liberty can be your outsourced import agent handling all import logistics while you decide on what to buy and from whom to buy it if you have already chosen a China factory to work with. Liberty has 7 China offices and can conduct on-site factory audit and inspection. We just make the process trouble-free for you.  By choosing Liberty, you have nothing to lose. You will ultimately pay less and you will have the comfort of knowing you have our decades of experience behind you. Please note Liberty can not warrant quality of the shipments if you select the factory and Liberty only handles import logistics.

If you have been doing your own importing and prefer to continue doing so, then Liberty can bid on your project on FOB China basis. We can compete with anyone on pricing and you gain the U.S. office service along with it. For related questions about importing, please check our Q&A website, www.ezimporting.com.

Q: Does it require training or additional costs to switch?

A: Liberty will work with your current procedures. Consider us your own import department without the overhead. No learning curve or risk. You pay only for the services rendered.

Q: Do I have to endure numerous contacts and voice mail trees just to check the status of my order?

A: A Liberty Account Manager will be assigned to remain in communication with you at all times. You have the option of dealing with only one person, always! All telephone calls, faxes and E-mails are guaranteed to be answered by the next business day.

Q: Do I have to maintain a Letter of Credit or use an International Wire Transfer?

A: There is no need to use a Letter of Credit unless it’s your choice of payment. Since everything is made per your order, the factory can not sell to others. A deposit is required upon ordering and full payment is required before making the final shipment. Letters of Credit and International wire transfers are the usual payment methods for imports. HOWEVER, with Liberty Global Group you have the convenience of paying by check or domestic wire transfer.

Q: What is the policy regarding cancellation and Liberty Global's terms and conditions?

A: Cancellation: Obviously, custom orders do not allow for cancellation... Cancellation penalty is 100% of the amount shown on the Proforma Invoice or Sales Confirmation signed by the customer.

Of course, you will have counter sample to approve before you place the order so you know what to expect.

Terms and Conditions: Liberty Global Group will warrant shipment matches the quality of the approval sample and may replace defective units by ocean freight or give credit for the value of the defective goods per Liberty's invoice unit price as the maximum compensation. Only manufacturing defects will be covered by this policy.

Any claim for quality or quantity discrepancy must be sent to Liberty Global Group in writing within 7 days after delivery and all defective units must be set aside for physical inspection or return. Return freight will be reimbursed by Liberty Global Group after the return merchandise is proven to have manufacturing defects. No claim shall be processed without physical samples. No payment deduction can be made without an official signed credit memo from Liberty.

Since all orders are made to order per customer's specifications and/or instructions, Liberty Global Group does not warrant the design matches the intended use. It is customer's sole responsibility to approve the sample provided by Liberty to make sure it meets the requirements of the intended use and to obtain product liability insurance on its own.

Customer may choose to send representatives to inspect the shipment at the factory's location at the time of shipping and such inspection shall relieve Liberty Global Group of the Terms and Conditions stated above.
